LITOMYŠL
AND CONTEMPORARY ARCHITECTURE
1990-2001

There are not many places in the Czech Republic where so many remarkable buildings have been built in such a limited area as in Litomyšl. It is a unique example of a harmonious relationship between the old architecture and the contemporary works. The conceptions of new buildings explore different attitudes of modernism of the 1990's, present in the works of the top Brno and Prague architects who have participated in tenders in Litomyšl after 1989, a town well-taken care of by its mayor Miroslav Brýdl.
